Upcoming Meeting - June 16th

The next meeting will be Sunday, June 16th at 2:00pm.  The meeting will be at Seams Like Home.

Bring finished and in progress quilting projects for show and tell.  Be inspired to try a new technique or use a new fabric.

Here are a few photos from the Jun 2nd meeting!
Krisin finished her green challenge quilt

PJ quilted and bound our blue star charity quilt

love the detail of adding our guild initials - yay PJ!

Current Challenge:
Create a quilt at least 36" x 45" with either green fabric or a pieced word. Or bump up the challenge and make a quilt with both green fabric and pieced words.  Challenge quilts are due in June (or as soon as you can finish them).

Current Charity Quilt Block Projects:

1.  Create a crumb block in a single color way (reds, yellow, blues, purples, greens, pink, etc. - your choice) measuring 12" x 18" finished.  Use big and little scraps and make the block.  If the size is intimidating for a crumb block, consider making six 6" crumb blocks then sewing them together to create the larger block size for the charity quilt.

2.  Using blocks painted by children, create a quilt top that later will be quilted to fleece.

April 21st Highlights

We have two charity quilts that were shown off at the meeting.  First up is the "Film Noir" quilt.  It is 100% finished and ready to deliver!  Carrie pieced the "Blue Stars" quilt for us and has handed it off for quilting.  We have some awesome members contributing blocks and working to finish these.  A special thank you goes out to PJ who has been doing an amazing job quilting the tops for us on her longarm!  Our newest member bound our "Film Noir" quilt for us!

*Remember our new charity blocks are 18" scrappy log cabins as wonky as you like!  So far we have 4!

Our newest member also completed the green pieced word challenge with this cute cupcake quilt!!

*Our current challenge is due by June: Create a quilt using the Pantone color of the year (Kelly Green) or Piece Words....or if you are feeling extra ambitious do both!

Carol shared her green mini quilt that has been up at the local library recently!

Carrie shared with us her bee block top.  Don't you just wish you could snuggle up and read a book under that one?

She also shared two more art girls quilts with us.  If you want to learn more about her art girl quilts or see them in person she will have a show up all of May at Snow City Cafe! The opening for her art show is Friday May 3rd at 5:30 P.M.  Our quilt guild has been lucky enough to see several of the large girls who will be in the show!

Happy Quilting!  We hope to see you at our next meeting. Sunday, May, 5th at Seams Like Home.
